A Collection of Shiny Objects: Just Cuz

I got up this morning and read 2 Lynn Nottage plays. Just cuz. Because they were there.

It was refreshing. I read so many new scripts, plays-in-development. I was reminded what a play I really like and can zip through feels like.

And Lynn is also a total sweetheart of a person.

About the Producer

Elizabeth R. English
(aka "Liz E") is California-grown, Chicago-toughened, and currently splits her time between Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Others euphemistically describe her forays into orchestrating controlled chaos as "producing". Her interest in theater and multidisciplinary performance lies in challenging boundaries and subverting paradigms. In her artistic life she has done everything from dj punk rock on amateur radio to stage manage opera in nationally renowned venues.

Her turn-ons include: live music, animation, puppetry, sustainable artistic practice, dramaturgy, multi-lingual performance, and anything remotely queer. Her turn-offs usually stem from people who say "no" or "can't be done". On days when she is cranky or querulous, Liz often threatens to form a commune.

Liz has a BS in Theater from Northwestern University and an MFA in Producing from the California Institute of the Arts.
